The Davis Cup at Guadeloupe, a new era for international tennis has begun

For the first time in its history, France has chosen a venue outside its national borders to host a match of the Davis Cup and won! The French tennis team, now headed by the newly elected captain and former tennis champion Yannick Noah, have challenged Canada in the first round of the World Group (4-6 March) in Guadeloupe.

For the occasion, the match of the Antilles took place at the Vélodrome Amédée-Détraux, an outdoor velodrome in Baie-Mahault with 6000 seats where the game was played in the clay court just like a normal tennis tournament.

For the restoration and the extension of the velodrome, the choice for the lighting supplier fell upon Disano illuminazione for its capacity to supply and install a top quality lighting system in record time.

The Italian manufacturer, which boasts a remarkable tradition in the indoor and outdoor lighting of sports events, worked in close cooperation with XERIA, a company of the VINCI group, specialized in public and sports lighting installations in Guadeloupe, creating an innovative project.

Thanks to Disano 2000W asymmetric Forum lights, it was possible to obtain a luminance level of 1800 lux with perfect light emission and very high levels of vertical lighting, ideal for sports events televised in high-definition. Technologically advanced fixtures that concentrate light uniformity, excellent colour rendering, visual comfort for viewers and athletes and, last but not least, lighting with no glare.

The new arena, a large attendance and the victory of the French tennis players contributed to making this round of the Davis Cup an even greater success!
