Cortina d’Ampezzo confirms itself as a landmark for international winter sports. Faloria, one of the most important ski areas in Cortina d’Ampezzo, will host for the third time in a row the Snowboard World Cup to take place on the third weekend of December.
This year, apart from the traditional evening parallel slalom, that will happen on Saturday December 16th, the event will also include a giant slalom at 1.15 pm to be held on Friday December 15th.
“The evening competition – explains Denis Constantini, president of the Cortina Snowboard Club – has the goal to add value to the TV live show and create a further event for spectators, while the second competition intends to attract a wider audience, including families and children”.
Disano illuminazione is once again one of the event’s main sponsors. Disano’s Forum spotlights will illuminate the ski slope where the international race will be televised live.
Disano is also one of the sponsors of the Cortina ice hockey team. The home team, established in 1924, is one of the oldest and most successful hockey teams in Italy, winner of 16 cups. Home rink of the team is the Olympic stadium of Cortina. Built for the Winter Olympics of 1956, the rink was recently renovated and covered to host the competitions of several disciplines including hockey, figure skating, short-track skating and curling.
This year, the SG Cortina Hafro hockey team started the season with a bang, yet again soaring to the top of the leader board.
