Cortina d’Ampezzo played host to a round of the Snowboard World Cup for the third time in the row. The event, which was held on the 15th and 16th December, was a success for the Italian team as well as for the northern Italian town known as the “pearl of the Dolomites”.
The Italian snowboarder, Roland Fischnaller, finished second in the final parallel slalom, right behind the Russian Andrey Sobolev. Nadya Ochner had the best result in the women’s category who earned third place. The races were viewed by an enthusiastic crowd gathered at the Faloria Ski Area and by viewers who watched the competitions live from Rai Sport TV.
As usual, the most exciting race was the evening parallel slalom held on the ski slope illuminated by Disano illuminazione, main technical partner for the event. The Forum spotlights ensured perfect viewing of the races and HD TV broadcasting. It was a sporting spectacle that turned out to be a unique experience thanks to the wonderful natural scenery where the races took place.
