Lighting fixtures proudly made in Italy for arenas all over the world. The floodlights for outdoor and indoor sport venues manufactured by Disano are continuing to enjoy success at international level.
The jewel in the crown of Disano’s range of sport lighting solutions is Forum LED, the modular fixture that has taken the LED technology into major international stadiums. It is an environmentally friendly, top-quality product that guarantees optimum lighting with maximum energy efficiency for HD televised events.
Eco-friendly and high-quality stadium lighting
Disano’s floodlights have kept the banner of made-in-Italy technology held high during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. Two of the stadiums that hosted the matches of the World Cup were illuminated with Disano’s Forum floodlights. The Cosmos Arena in Samara, with its rooftop resembling a space ship to remind of Russia’s aerospace industry headquartered in this city and the Mordovia Arena in Saransk, a 45,000 seat stadium draped in the bright colours of the region.
In addition to these stadiums, in which champions like Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar played, Disano floodlights provide environmentally friendly and technologically cutting-edge lighting to many other stadiums of all dimensions, such as the Stadio Toumba, home of the famous Greek Paok Salonicco football team, that recently upgraded its lighting system with Disano’s Forum lights, or the Gran Parque Central in Montevideo, in Uruguay, the first stadium to have hosted a FIFA World Cup.
Arenas renovated with Forum LED
Two major European indoor arenas have recently chosen Disano’s Forum LED to totally renovate its lighting system: the Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg, Sweden and the Tivoli Hala in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
These are two arenas that play a major role in the story of Sweden and Slovenia sport and that both have chosen an eco-friendly and high-quality lighting system, fundamental for any modern multi-functional facility.
The Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg, Sweden was the largest indoor facility in Northern Europe when it was inaugurated on 18 May 1971. Throughout the course of its history, the arena hosted numerous international sports competitions, including several editions of Ice Hockey and Handball World Championships, as well as other events, such as the famous 1984 Davis Cup final when Sweden won against the United States. The stadium, simply known as the Scandinavium, is also the venue of concerts and music events of international stars.
For the new lighting system in the Scandinavium, designers installed 121 Forum LED (Disano) lights, with two modules, colour temperature of 5700 K and colour rendering of Ra>90. Another 28 Forum LED (Disano) two-module floodlights were used for the lighting of the stands and 18 Astro (Disano) will be used during concerts, meetings and conferences. The new lighting system is equipped with a control system with DMX protocol (Digital multiplex) controlled from a central console that allows setting different lighting scenes and creating the right mood for any sporting and concert event.
Built in 1965, the Tivoli Hala in Ljubljana is famous for hosting the match where the Yugoslav national team won the golden medal in the Basketball World Championship in 1970. Today the facility has two indoor arenas, one for ice hockey with 4,000 seats, and the other with a field to host basketball, volleyball and handball games, with a capacity of 5,600. The Tivoli Hall hosts national and international competitions, in both hockey and basket world championships.
The hockey rink in the Tivoli Hall is now illuminated with 76 Forum LED floodlights (Disano), in the variant with two asymmetric LED modules and 68 Forum LED floodlights (Disano) with one symmetric LED module. For the arena used for basketball, volleyball or handball, designers used 36 Forum LED floodlights (Disano), with two asymmetric modules and 20 Forum LED floodlights (Disano) with one symmetric module.
